people (men) who have walked on the moon

No one has walked on the moon since December 14, 1972. The Manson trial was over. Watergate had happened. Agnew had not yet resigned. Nixon had not yet resigned. We were still in Vietnam. The World Trade Center had just been completed earlier that year. There was no such thing yet as a designated hitter.

We’ve come a long way. Yet no one has walked on the moon since December 14, 1972.

Here’s a list of who did (how many can you name?):

  1. Neil Armstrong (July 20, 1969)
  2. Buzz Aldrin (July 20, 1969)
  3. Pete Conrad (November 19-20, 1969)
  4. Alan Bean (November 19-20, 1969)
  5. Alan Shepard (February 5-6, 1971)
  6. Edgar Mitchell (February 5-6, 1971)
  7. David Scott (July 31-August 2, 1971)
  8. James Irwin (July 31-August 2, 1971)
  9. John W. Young (April 21-23, 1972)
  10. Charles Duke (April 21-23, 1972)
  11. Eugene Cernan (December 11-14, 1972)
  12. Harrison Schmitt (December 11-14, 1972)
