ironic—relating to, containing, or constituting irony

irony (Latin ironia, from Greek eirōnia, from eirōn dissembler)—(1) a pretense of ignorance to make false conceptions conspicuous by adroit questioning (Socratic irony) (2) the use of words to express something other than the literal meaning (3) incongruity between the actual result and the expected result (dramatic/tragic irony)
